During this conversation we can discuss your question and determine whether a visit to our consultation hour is necessary. Depending on the nature of your question and our available capacity, we may schedule you for our consultation hour.
So, before you visit: give us a call! That way we can make the best moves together and make sure you get the right support. We look forward to helping you!

Our consultation hours are by appointment only. You can make this appointment by phone with one of our staff members.

* Consultation hour on location: in order to help as many people as possible, a maximum of 30 minutes is scheduled for a consultation. It is therefore important that you have a clear idea of what you wish to seek advice on. Make sure you have all relevant documents regarding the dispute at hand. You will always be assisted by two employees. They can advise you in Dutch and English.
About us
The Rechtswinkel Amsterdam has been giving free legal advice since 1972. This is made possible by 32 eager law students who volunteer some of their spare time to engage with the Rechtswinkel. Besides what these students learn at university, they receive weekly lectures at the Rechtswinkel on a variety of topics. The Rechtswinkel provides this education to ensure that the students give up-to-date advice to anyone they help. We also provide the students with plenty of opportunities to visit law firms or attend hearings in court, to keep them engaged with the legal landscape and to put them in touch with potential future employers. Within the Rechtswinkel there are several legal sections and boards. The sections have the responsibility to do the necessary research into their particular field of law, e.g. employers law; the boards are in control of organising activities, the lectures, or our blog posts. Every students is part of a section and a board and thus has plenty of opportunity to aid the functioning of our association. In short, we owe it to each of the students that work for us that the Rechtswinkel can continue to do what it was founded for: To give accurate legal advice free of charge.

Law firms De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, Allen & Overy and Loyens & Loeff decided in December 2013 to come together and rescue the Rechtswinkel Amsterdam from the abyss. Since then, they have continued to provide us with financial support and give us help and advice when needed, along with the Legal Aid Board (Raad voor Rechtsbijstand).

Stichting Vrienden Rechtswinkel Amsterdam
The Stichting Vrienden Rechtswinkel Amsterdam (SVRA) is an organisation which aims to support the Rechtswinkel Amsterdam in all its aspects. The board of the SVRA intends to bring together as many former employees of the Rechtswinkel Amsterdam as possible by means of a yearly event and a newsletter. Doing so, the boards aims to inform former employees about any developments at the Rechtswinkel Amsterdam and to create and maintain an active network from which both the Rechtswinkel and its (former) employees may benefit.
As SVRA, we hope to act as a safety net for the Rechtswinkel Amsterdam. Thanks to our network, we can guarantee the continuity, stability and professionality of the Rechtswinkel Amsterdam.
